For everyone who has been bemoaning the sorry state of the British Pound, there’s now reason to celebrate: You can now buy a pint of draught beer for one lowly quid at The Old English Pub.
Starting Oct. 12, get a pint for a pound, every day from 2-3 p.m. at the only British-style pub in Bangkok’s Thonglor area. How much is that in real (Thai) money? How about a flat 40 baht for an ice-cold draught pint of Leo beer.
In addition to this 2-3 p.m. “Crazy Hour”, The Old English still has its all-day Happy Hour, with pints of draught Asahi for 129 baht (1/2 pint 85 baht, 690 baht tower), and pints of Hoegaarden for 179 baht (1/2 pint 99 baht), and, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., domestic bottles for 99 baht each and half-priced cocktails.
Of course, the best drink deals are on Wednesdays when it’s Buy 1, Get 1 Free on all drinks from 5 p.m. until close. Ladies also get half-priced drinks and food from 5-10 p.m. on Ladies Night every Monday.
Ladies Night also features live music from Tiny Moon, who appears Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
