American Tourist Assaulted and Robbed by Transgender Suspects in Pattaya

Pattaya, Chonburi – An American tourist suffered a head injury after being assaulted and robbed by two transgender individuals early Tuesday morning in Pattaya.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 5:06 a.m. on July 15, 2025, in Soi Pattaya Beach Road 6/1, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. The victim, whose name was withheld, sustained a bleeding wound to his head and later filed a formal complaint at the Pattaya City Police Station with Pol. Sub-Lt. Chanan Kesaonbua, Deputy Inspector of Investigation.

The tourist reported that while he was walking through the alley, he was approached by two scantily clad transgender individuals offering sexual services. As they pretended to get close and fondle him, they allegedly stole 3,000 baht in cash from his pants pocket.

When the victim realized his money was missing, he confronted the suspects and demanded it back, prompting a heated argument. One of the individuals then struck him on the head with an object, causing a laceration.

The injured tourist managed to run away and seek help from a passerby, who assisted him in contacting the police.

Pol. Sub-Lt. Chanan stated that investigators have been dispatched to gather evidence, locate witnesses, and review CCTV footage from the area. Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the suspects so they can be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Police have urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
