Every Friday and Saturday night from June 23 – September 1, saxophonist Dale Barlow will thrill jazz lovers with virtuoso performances at The Living Room.
Dale Barlow is one of Australia’s most accomplished and internationally recognized jazz artists. The extraordinary saxophonist’s impressive pedigree includes playing as a member of the Cedar Walton Quartet and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, two of the greatest training grounds for young musicians in jazz history. Dale is acknowledged as a truly inspirational and original tenor saxophonist and composer but is also a talented multi-instrumentalist and plays flute, bass, clarinet and piano.
As a composer, Dale has written for large and small ensembles, film, theatre and television, and recorded extensively. His credits include touring and recording with some of the all-time greats including Chet Baker, Gil Evans, Jackie Mclean, Dizzy Gillespie, Ernie Watts, Kenny Barron, to name a few. For the last three years, Dale has toured as a member of Billy Cobham’s band. He also continues to work around the world as a bandleader, recording artist, and as a soloist, composer and arranger with numerous groups.
During his residency at The Living Room, Dale Barlow’s incredible playing will be complemented by the sensational Randy Cannon Group every Friday and Saturday from 20.45 hours onwards.
