A 61-year-old British tourist who uses an electric wheelchair and is unable to speak fell victim to a late-night robbery in Pattaya, a popular seaside destination in Thailand. Police are now searching for three women suspected of luring him into a hotel room before stealing cash and leaving him stranded.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on 15 July in a hotel on Pattaya Klang Road, a central area frequently visited by tourists. According to police reports, the victim, Mr. Chris John Glennon, who has a speech impairment, was approached by three women. They allegedly persuaded him to accompany them to room 140, where he was subsequently robbed.

The suspects reportedly stole approximately 6,000 Thai baht in cash and an additional 150 British pounds, with the total loss valued at around 12,500 baht (about 340 USD). After taking the money, the women fled the scene, leaving Mr. Glennon alone and unable to call out for help.

Due to his disability, Mr. Glennon was forced to communicate his distress by typing messages on his mobile phone to police officers. Witnesses described him as visibly shaken and deeply upset by the ordeal.

Pattaya, located about 150 kilometres southeast of Bangkok, is known both for its vibrant nightlife and, unfortunately, occasional incidents targeting tourists. Local authorities emphasised that they are treating this case as a priority.

Pattaya police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the three female suspects. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Pattaya Police Department immediately. Travelers are also reminded to exercise caution when approached by strangers, especially late at night.
