Indian Tourist Robbed in Pattaya Hotel Room After Beach Encounter

A 45-year-old Indian tourist reported being robbed in Pattaya on Saturday night after inviting a woman he met on the beach back to his hotel room. The woman allegedly disappeared with his cash before any personal interaction occurred.

According to police, the tourist, identified only as Mr. Sudip, filed a report at Muang Pattaya Police Station early Sunday morning. The incident took place in a hotel located in Nong Prue, a subdistrict of Bang Lamung district in Chon Buri province. Pattaya is a popular coastal city known for its vibrant nightlife and beach attractions, frequently visited by both foreign tourists and Thai nationals.

Mr. Sudip stated that he was walking along the beach late Saturday night when he met the Thai woman. After agreeing to accompany him, she followed him to his hotel room. While he briefly went into the bathroom, the woman reportedly took the opportunity to leave with his money.

The missing funds included 5,000 baht (approximately USD 135) in Thai currency and 30,000 Indian rupees (around 11,000 baht, or USD 300).

Police investigators have retrieved security camera footage from the hotel. Officers say the video provides clear images of the woman suspected of the theft. Authorities are working to confirm her identity and locate her.

Local police have reminded visitors to exercise caution when meeting strangers, especially in nightlife areas. Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is encouraged to contact Muang Pattaya Police Station.
