Conor McGregor returns to UFC LIVE at The Old English Pub 19 January
In virtual hiding for more than a year, UFC superstar Conor McGregor returns to the Octogon 19 January against “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone and The Old English Pub will bring it to Bangkok live.
Ireland’s McGregor has been off the stage since his humbling loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 but is back topping a full card for which The Old English Pub in Bangkok’s Thonglor neighbourhood will be opening early to show. Preliminaries start at 08:00 with McGregor and Cowboy squaring off around noon.
Until then, The Old English Pub will have a full menu of food and drink specials to satisfy even the hungriest UFC fans.
From 8 a.m., MMA maniacs can enjoy a full English or American breakfast for just 129 baht through 13:00 or, from 11:00, a free pint of local draught or soft drink with any pizza, burger or pie.
Thirsty? Singha draught pints will be on offer from open at just 129 baht nett – there’s never any plus-plus nonsense at The Old English – and Hanoi Premium bottles for 99 baht nett.
As for the fight, what’s apparent is both McGregor and Cerrone need a win.
The fighting Irishman hasn’t won since topping Eddie Alvarez in UFC 205 while Cerrone is coming off losses from two of the best in the division: Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.
Many claim the fight will be an easy one for McGregor, but Cowboy’s CV begs to differ, especially with both competing at the welterweight – not lightweight – division.
Pundits believe McGregor’s boxing and footwork skills will be too much for Cerrone and will get the job done in the early rounds. But others point to Cerrone’s extensive lightweight experience, ground game and striking ability to put McGregor down for good on Jan. 19.
