Russian national reported missing after threats

The victim was identified as Mikhail Emelianov, age 30. He disappeared on January 8, 2026. His mother travelled from Russia to report the case after learning about threats tied to an unpaid debt.

Police discover dismembered remains in Pattaya

Police located human remains on vacant land in Pattaya near a pond. The body was cut into pieces and buried in five locations. Clothing at the scene matched what the victim wore before he disappeared.

Debt and drug-related motive under investigation

Investigators said the victim received threatening messages demanding repayment of 120,000 US dollars. Messages referenced drugs, including heroin, and threats of violence. Police detained at least two foreign suspects in Bangkok.

Forensic teams examined the scene and worked to confirm identity through testing. Police said further details on the motive and suspects will follow after the evidence review.
