The tourist told police he had been drinking at a “beer bar,” a common type of nightlife venue in Thailand where customers socialise with staff while purchasing drinks. He said he later invited two Thai women he met at the bar back to his hotel room to continue drinking.
Shortly after returning to the room, he began to feel unusually drowsy and lost consciousness. When he woke, he discovered that 5,000 Thai baht in cash and a Rolex watch, estimated to be worth around 700,000 baht, were missing. He believes the two women were responsible.
