Pattaya Beach Road Arrests: Immigration Detains Eight Foreign Nationals for Public Solicitation

Pattaya Beach Road arrests took place on New Year’s Eve as Thai immigration police detained eight foreign women for public solicitation. Officials said the operation responded to complaints from tourists and local residents in one of Thailand’s busiest seaside areas.

Officers from Chon Buri Immigration conducted inspections along Pattaya Beach Road between Soi 13 and Soi 13/4. A soi refers to a small side street in Thailand. Authorities acted after reports of foreign women approaching tourists and offering sexual services in public spaces.

Police used an undercover foreign officer to observe activity. After the suspects initiated contact, officers recorded evidence and made arrests on-site.

Legal Charges Following Pattaya Beach Road Arrests

Police detained eight foreign nationals. Five were from Uganda, two from Uzbekistan, and one from Madagascar. Officers transferred all suspects to Pattaya City Police Station.

Authorities charged the group under Section 5 of the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act B.E. 2539. This law, enacted in 1996, bans public solicitation linked to prostitution. Each individual received a 1,000 baht fine. Immigration officers revoked their stay permits using Form TM.83.

The individuals remain in custody while deportation procedures move forward. Officials said Pattaya Beach Road arrests form part of ongoing efforts to enforce public order laws in major tourist areas.
