The Phuket drug crackdown intensified in Patong after complaints of cocaine sales to tourists. Officials moved fast to protect public safety and the city’s tourism image.

The Phuket drug crackdown took place from 20 to 21 December 2025. The Phuket Governor directed the operation. Provincial Chief Administrative Officer Rungreang Thimabut issued orders. A special provincial administrative unit worked with Kathu District security officers.
Arrests and seized evidence
The Phuket drug crackdown led to two arrests.
Authorities detained one Thai national.
Authorities detained one British national.
Officers seized cocaine and cocaine mixed with tramadol. The total weight exceeded 8 grams. Police also seized marked buy money, a car, and mobile phones.

Legal action
Police charged both suspects with illegal possession and distribution of narcotics. Officers transferred the suspects and evidence to investigators at Patong Police Station for prosecution.
