PATTAYA, Thailand, February 14, 2026. Tourist Police and Immigration officers carried out a late-night operation targeting alleged prostitution along Pattaya Beach. Authorities detained 20 women during the sweep, which echoed yesterday’s crackdown in Patong, Phuket

Officers from the Tourist Police Division 4 and the Chonburi Immigration led the joint operation. They focused on beachfront areas in Pattaya, Chonburi Province.
Police said they acted after receiving complaints from foreign tourists. Complainants reported that groups of women, including foreign nationals and Thai women, approached them, started conversations, negotiated prices, and offered sexual services. Officials said this behaviour damaged the city’s image as a tourist destination.
Undercover officers posed as tourists to observe activity. Authorities reported that many of the women were foreign nationals, with several from Uganda. Officers said some stood along the sidewalk near the beach and approached foreign men.

During searches, officers found condoms and lubricant on some individuals and kept them as evidence.
All detainees denied the allegations. Police transferred them for identity checks, document verification, and questioning. Authorities said anyone found to have violated the law will face prosecution. In cases where evidence did not meet the legal threshold, officers recorded personal details and photographs.
Officials said the operation followed policy from the Royal Thai Police to address illegal activity in tourist areas and improve the city’s image. They urged the public to report suspected offences to nearby officers for investigation.
