Reports of Jomtien Beach Public Indecency Prompt Police Response

At 2.06 a.m., the Pattaya City Police communications centre received reports from residents and tourists about inappropriate conduct on public beach chairs along Jomtien Beach. The area sits south of central Pattaya and remains popular with visitors late at night.

Police investigators and patrol officers were dispatched to the location in Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Witnesses said the couple engaged in sexual activity in full view of others, causing discomfort among nearby beachgoers.

Witness Accounts of Jomtien Beach Public Indecency

A 22-year-old motorcycle taxi rider waiting for work nearby told police he saw the couple behave affectionately before the woman climbed onto the man and continued openly in public.

Another witness, age 42, said the couple had been drinking alcohol on the beach with a group of six to seven friends. After the group left, the couple remained and soon drew the attention of passersby, prompting people to contact the police.


Police Action in Jomtien Beach Public Indecency Incident

Police later found the couple outside a nearby hotel and brought them to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning. The pair said they were previously married, later divorced, and met again while travelling with friends. Alcohol played a role in their behaviour.


Police charged the couple with public indecency, an offence under Thai law punishable by a fine of up to 5,000 baht. Officers issued a warning and released them. Authorities have reminded visitors that public spaces in Thailand adhere to local laws and social standards.
