The Oasis, Soi Cowboys latest watering hole somewhat breaks the mould of the typical bar you’d usually stumble across on Bangkok’s neon alley. Unlike its flash your gash neighbours The Oasis is a “normal” bar without a mattress actress insight.
The Oasis is the latest venture of the Stumble Inn Group, a veteran of Bangkok’s Soi 4 nightlife area and replaces one of the infamous Arab’s old establishments. The bar is Soi Cowboy’s first British-style sports and music pub and is a long-overdue addition to Soi 23’s pleasure palaces.
Made famous by the movie “The Hangover 2”, the naughty nightlife strip now attracts more than just the average naughty boys. The neon alley has become a must-visit destination on the bucket list of mainstream tourists who visit Soi Cowboy to see the sights and take selfies. The Oasis is a perfect spot to stop off for cold refreshments, and take a breather from the hectic pace of one of Bangkok’s most famous destinations.
The bar features an outdoor terrace, a perfect place to sit and relax with a cold beer (pints of Chang from 100 baht) and indulge in a spot of people watching. A dozen draught beers and ciders are available on tap. If the heat outside is too much to bear then inside the bar is entirely air-conditioned and a welcome relief from the stifling heat.
Inside the bar has a modern industrial interior design, featuring exposed brickwork and unfinished concrete floors complemented by high-quality furniture with polished surfaces. The Oasis certainly has the wow factor, and wouldn’t look out of place in Bangkok’s hipster hangout Thong Lor!
The Oasis is a mecca for music & sports fans alike. Live music is hosted seven nights a week with performances from some of Bangkok’s best-known bands such as the Nowhere Man, who have the place rocking with classic rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and hits from Queen, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
For sports fans, the bar boasts a large 110-inch LED screen offering the perfect big-game experience. A dozen high-definition large-screen TVs mean that all EPL games are shown simultaneously. With access to local satellite-TV sports channels and multiple online-streaming sources, The Oasis shows everything from UFC to Major League Baseball.
On the first floor there are three competition-grade pool tables as well as more high-definition large-screen TVs, again showing all EPL games simultaneously with commentary. The first floor also features an outdoor terrace perfect for those who like to sit and watch the world go by, with the bonus of having a birds-eye view of the street below.
If fancy a bite to eat there is an extensive menu with great value pub grub featuring all the classic British staples alongside Thai offerings — there is something for everyone. For those wanting a lighter bite seven great, 12-inch thin-and-crispy pizzas are baked to order straight from a professional pizza oven.
