AirAsia’s Bangkok-Phnom Penh flights are back from only 55USD/Trip. More Connections to Come for Countries with No Quarantine Requirement

Following Cambodia’s announcement of quarantine-free entry for vaccinated foreign travellers, AirAsia is announcing the resumption of its international flight service from Bangkok (Don Mueang) to Phnom Penh, the capital and financial centre of Cambodia, starting 22 December 2021 with 3 flights weekly (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday).

All-in fares for BIG members start at only 55 USD per trip, available for booking from now on, for travel from 22 December 2021 – 25 March 2022. Promotional seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

AirAsia Thailand Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya said, “With the announcement of Thailand’s reopening policy, AirAsia has been eager to seek opportunities to bring back suspended routes. It has made sure to provide connections to nations that share Thailand’s tourism policy, especially those in the ASEAN region in the interest of supporting economic and tourism recovery.

“Cambodia has made all preparations needed to once again welcome visitors, and fully vaccinated travellers can visit the country without quarantine and AirAsia welcomes and fully supports this. Phnom Penh, as the capital and financial centre of the nation, is a major destination for business travellers, including Thai investors. AirAsia recognized that it could facilitate such travels by reopening this route,” Santisuk said.

Cambodia is allowing quarantine free visits for individuals who have been fully vaccinated in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) requirements, no less than 14 days prior to departure and that have a negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19 (received at least 72 hours prior to travel). Travellers will only need to submit a negative Rapid Test result on arrival that takes about 15 minutes to administer. A 14-day quarantine still applies to non-vaccinated travellers.

Similarly, travellers entering Thailand from Cambodia will not be required to undergo quarantine as the country is among 63 approved for Thailand’s Test and Go protocol. Entrants to the Kingdom will be required to register in the Thai Pass system (at least 7 days prior to entry), which can be conveniently done by uploading all documentation to tp.consular.go.th

Bangkok (Don Mueang) – Phnom Penh is the second international route reinstated by Thai AirAsia following Bangkok (Don Mueang) – Maldives, underlining the airline’s readiness to support the nation’s border reopening.

In addition, Bangkok also has major international hospitals that provide leading medical, health and beauty services at affordable prices. Moreover, there are many more interesting things to discover, impressive shopping malls and endless fun.

AirAsia has spent a period of downtime in travel over the past 20 months to further improve and revamp its flight procedures and processes. In the highest interest of safety and wellbeing of all its guests and employees, AirAsia only assigns fully vaccinated cabin crew and ground staff to operate flights and be on-duty at airport terminals.
