A foreign travel vlogger has raised concerns over alleged cocaine offers in Bangkok after claiming he was repeatedly approached by men offering drugs while walking along Sukhumvit Road with his young children.
The vlogger, known online as GlobetrotterJulez, said the encounters began the previous day while he was walking with his four-year-old daughter. He later returned to the area on August 18 with his nine-year-old son and recorded his experience using Meta smart glasses.
Cocaine Offers in Bangkok Reported During Walk
According to the vlogger, one man allegedly offered him “coke” during an earlier encounter. His daughter reportedly misunderstood the comment and thought the stranger was offering Coca-Cola.
After being approached several times, the vlogger said he decided to document what he described as repeated attempts to offer drugs to foreign visitors in the area.
He returned to Sukhumvit Road the following day with his son and began recording his walk through the busy tourist district.
Vlogger Claims He Was Approached at Least 10 Times
The walk lasted approximately 30 to 40 minutes. During this period, the vlogger said he was approached or contacted by numerous men.
He estimated he was approached at least 10 times, with several encounters allegedly involving offers of cocaine.
The footage also showed some individuals attempting to engage with him while his young son was present.
No drugs were shown changing hands in the footage. The identities and activities of the individuals recorded have not been independently verified.
The allegations therefore remain claims made by the vlogger and do not establish confirmed evidence of drug dealing.
Concerns Over Alleged Drug Dealing on Sukhumvit Road
The footage has prompted online discussion about alleged street-level drug dealing in one of Bangkok’s busiest tourist and entertainment areas.
Sukhumvit Road runs through several popular neighbourhoods and is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, shopping areas, bars and nightlife venues. The area attracts large numbers of foreign tourists and long-term expatriates.
The vlogger said his criticism focused on the alleged drug activity shown in his footage. He also stressed that his comments were not directed at the nationality or ethnicity of the people featured.
Cocaine Remains Strictly Controlled in Thailand
Cocaine is a heavily restricted narcotic under Thai law. Offences involving possession, sale, trafficking, importation and exportation carry serious criminal penalties.
Thai authorities regularly investigate drug offences and have previously announced arrests involving international cocaine trafficking networks operating in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand.
Thailand’s drug laws apply equally to foreign visitors and residents. Tourists and expatriates should therefore exercise extreme caution if approached with offers of illegal drugs.
