Bar Vandalism on Soi Buakhao

According to Pattaya police, the suspect, identified only as Ary, arrived at a closed beer bar on Soi Buakhao around 6:30 p.m. in a visibly agitated state. Soi Buakhao is a well-known street in central Pattaya, popular for its nightlife and small entertainment venues. CCTV footage showed Ary forcing open the bar’s front door and throwing a cue ball toward liquor bottles before storming upstairs.

Confrontation With Brother-in-Law

On the upper floors, Ary reportedly broke through a wooden panel and entered a room where his 39-year-old Thai brother-in-law was resting. A confrontation followed. The brother-in-law told police that Ary tried to punch him. He said he struck back in self-defence, causing a head wound to Ary.

After the scuffle, Ary left the scene by motorcycle taxi.

Fire at Family Home

Later that evening, around 7:30 p.m., Ary allegedly set fire to his Thai wife’s designer clothing outside their home. The wife, who recorded the aftermath, said Ary taunted her during a video call, saying he had “burned all [her] clothes.” She estimated the losses at several tens of thousands of baht, with some items worth over 10,000 baht each.

Police and local rescue volunteers found Ary with a deep head injury and persuaded him to seek medical treatment. His wife told The Pattaya News she feared for her safety, adding that he had been acting unpredictably and that she intended to press charges.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Authorities are investigating Ary for possible charges including assault, property damage, and arson. The motive behind the Pattaya British man incident remains unclear. Police said they are waiting for Ary to recover before conducting a formal interview.

Incidents involving foreigners occasionally draw public attention in Pattaya, a popular beach city known for its nightlife and large expatriate community. Police have reminded visitors to remain respectful of local laws and seek help early if personal conflicts escalate.
