PATTAYA, 17 February 2026 — A Chinese tourist has reported being attacked and robbed in what police describe as a Pattaya hotel assault in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police said the incident was reported at 4.30 am to Pattaya City Police Station. The hotel is located on Soi 4 off Pattaya Second Road in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. Pattaya is a coastal resort city about 150 kilometres southeast of Bangkok and attracts large numbers of foreign visitors each year.
Details of the Incident
The 27-year-old tourist, identified as Mr Jiang Zili, filed a formal complaint with police through an interpreter.

He told investigators he had invited a transgender woman to his hotel room. In Thailand, transgender women are often referred to as “kathoey,” a commonly used Thai term. Many work in entertainment and nightlife areas in tourist cities such as Pattaya.
According to his statement, the woman later brought two friends to the room. An argument followed. He alleged that the three damaged property inside the room, assaulted him, and took 20,000 baht in cash before leaving.
At current exchange rates, 20,000 baht equals approximately 550 to 600 US dollars.
Emergency Assistance and Witness Account
Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Foundation provided first aid at the scene. The foundation is a local volunteer emergency response organisation that supports police and medical services.
A motorcycle taxi driver waiting at the entrance to the soi, which is a Thai term for a small side street, told officers the injured tourist ran to him in distress and asked for help. The driver assisted him in contacting authorities.
Motorcycle taxis are widely available in Thailand and often operate at designated street corners in busy areas.
Investigation into Pattaya Hotel Assault Continues
Investigators are reviewing hotel CCTV footage to identify the three suspects and determine the sequence of events in the reported Pattaya hotel assault. Police said legal action will proceed once those involved are identified.
No arrests have been announced. The investigation remains ongoing.
