A Pattaya hotel stabbing left a Japanese tourist injured early Monday morning after a violent dispute inside a hotel room in central Pattaya. Police detained a Thai transgender woman at the scene following the incident.

Police from patrol unit 1303 arrived at the hotel and found the victim, identified as Yusuki, a Japanese national aged about 60, bleeding heavily from a deep wound near his right wrist.

Authorities said the cut measured about 3 centimetres and appeared to have been caused by a sharp instrument.

Emergency responders stopped the bleeding before transporting the victim to Pattaya International Hospital for treatment.

Police secured the scene and began collecting evidence related to the Pattaya hotel stabbing.

Transgender Suspect Detained After Pattaya Hotel Stabbing

Officers detained a 27-year-old Thai transgender woman named Min, also known as Sutthasat.

In Thailand, transgender women are widely known as “kathoey,” a commonly recognised gender identity in Thai society.

Police said the suspect surrendered voluntarily and admitted to cutting the tourist with scissors during the confrontation.

According to her statement, she met the tourist earlier near Pattaya Beach before inviting him to a hotel room. She told investigators the dispute turned physical and said she grabbed the scissors in self-defence after the tourist allegedly assaulted her.

Conflicting Claims in Investigation

The injured tourist reportedly gave a different account. Initial police information states he claimed the suspect attempted to rob him of 5,000 baht during the encounter.

Investigators are reviewing both statements while examining evidence collected at the hotel.

The case is supervised by Anek Saratongyu, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station. The suspect was transferred to investigator Aris Phuang Sai for further questioning.

Police Continue Pattaya Hotel Stabbing Investigation

Authorities are waiting for a full medical report on the victim’s injuries. Police will record a detailed statement once doctors confirm the tourist’s condition improves.

Officials said charges will depend on medical findings, witness testimony, and evidence collected during the Pattaya hotel stabbing investigation.

Police in Pattaya stated their commitment to tourist safety and said the investigation continues under Thai law.
