Investigators recovered two knives from a trash bin inside the store: a fruit peeling knife and a kitchen knife. Officers believe these were used in the attack.

In an initial statement, the suspect told police the dispute began earlier when the British tourist approached him and allegedly pressured him to sell ketamine. Ketamine is classified as an illegal narcotic under Thai law. The suspect said he refused and told the tourist drug sales are illegal in Thailand.

He claimed the disagreement escalated into a physical fight, during which he lost a tooth. According to his account, he then followed the tourist into the store and stabbed him in the leg in retaliation. Police have not confirmed this version of events.

Investigation Continues Following Pattaya Stabbing

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the store and collecting witness statements to establish the full circumstances of the Pattaya stabbing.

Pattaya remains one of Thailand’s most visited coastal cities, attracting large numbers of tourists and long-term expatriates each year. Police said further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
