Pattaya Tourist Assault: Police Respond to Viral Soi 6 Attack

PATTAYA, Thailand, April 13, 2026. A Pattaya tourist assault is under investigation after a viral video showed a group attacking a foreign visitor on Soi 6.
The incident took place in the early morning outside Tiffany Bar. The clip shows several men in motorcycle taxi vests attacking the tourist. The footage spread widely online and triggered a rapid response from local authorities.
Police Colonel Anek Sarathongyu, chief of Pattaya City Police Station, ordered officers to locate those involved. Investigation and traffic units identified and detained four individuals on the same day. The group included two motorcycle taxi drivers and two bar employees.

Pattaya Tourist Assault: Dispute Escalates Into Violence
Officers said the situation began as an argument between the tourist and a Thai man. The motorcycle taxi drivers claimed they stepped in to stop the dispute. They stated the tourist struck one of them first.
The situation escalated. Two drivers, identified as Theerapak and Amphon, kicked the tourist in the stomach and back. Bystanders later intervened and broke up the fight.

Police recorded statements from all four individuals and added their details to a criminal database. Authorities issued formal warnings to the two drivers.
Investigators are now working to locate the injured tourist to collect testimony and determine further legal action.
Police stressed a clear message. Violence will not be tolerated. Officers urged workers and business operators in the area to report conflicts instead of taking action themselves.
The case has raised concerns about tourist safety during the Songkran festival. Local officials said fast response remains a priority. They aim to maintain order and protect visitors during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
