The Phuket Bangla Road crackdown led to nine arrests for prostitution and two visa overstay cases during a coordinated early morning operation in Patong. Police acted on complaints about public solicitation in the busy nightlife district.

Inside the Phuket Bangla Road Crackdown
Officers launched the operation at 3.00 a.m. on February 13, 2026. Tourist Police worked with Phuket Immigration and the provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security.
Authorities found foreign women openly soliciting tourists along Bangla Road. Police said the activity disturbed visitors and damaged Phuket’s tourism image. Nine suspects were arrested under the Prostitution Prevention and Suppression Act B.E. 2539.
Visa Overstay Cases
During checks, officers identified two suspects who had overstayed their visas. Immigration will review their status and consider revoking permission to remain in Thailand. Deportation will proceed under legal steps.

Ongoing Safety Campaign
The crackdown forms part of a wider campaign targeting 10 prohibited crime categories. Tourist Police aim to strengthen safety measures and maintain confidence among international travellers visiting Phuket.
