Finnish Tourist Rides Bleeding to Pattaya Police Station After Alleged Stabbing by LGBTQ+ Partner

A Finnish tourist rode his motorcycle to Pattaya City Police Station in the early hours of Thursday after allegedly being stabbed several times by his partner following an argument over 200 baht.

The incident unfolded at around 3:16am on July 2. Officers inside the police station were approached by a 59-year-old Finnish man, identified as Lauri Tapani Orling, who arrived covered in blood and asking for help.

According to police, the man had been attacked inside a room on Soi Buakhao, one of Pattaya’s busiest nightlife areas. Rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation responded to the station and provided emergency first aid before rushing him to hospital.

The victim told officers through an interpreter that he had been in a relationship with his LGBTQ+ partner for more than a year. He said the pair became involved in a heated argument over an unpaid expense of approximately 200 baht.

The dispute allegedly turned violent when his partner attacked him with a sharp object, inflicting wounds to his eyebrow, beneath his left eye, and a stab wound to the left side of his chest, close to his heart.

Despite his injuries, the Finnish national managed to grab his motorcycle keys and ride approximately one kilometre from the accommodation to Pattaya City Police Station, where officers immediately arranged medical assistance.

Rescue workers confirmed the man had facial lacerations and a stab wound to the chest. Police also inspected his motorcycle and documented bloodstains found on the vehicle as part of the investigation.

Investigators have since examined the room where the alleged assault took place and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage. Police are working to identify and locate the suspect for questioning.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests had been announced at the time of reporting.
