Pattaya Motorbike Taxi Driver Punches Indian Tourist Who Allegedly Groped Him.

PATTAYA — Police are investigating a violent assault that left a 46-year-old Indian tourist bloodied and injured in the early hours of Friday morning in Pattaya City.

The victim, identified as Mr. Devendra, was discovered shortly before 2 AM on May 17, lying on the roadside in Soi Thep Prasit 17. According to police, Mr. Devendra was heavily intoxicated and had sustained injuries to his left eyebrow and eye socket. Blood was reportedly flowing down his face, staining his clothes. Rescue volunteers arrived at the scene and administered first aid before rushing him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Witnesses at the scene managed to capture photos of the alleged attacker, which have since been submitted to the authorities as evidence.

A nearby condominium security guard provided key details to investigators, recounting a conversation with a local motorcycle taxi driver. The rider claimed that Mr. Devendra had incorrectly entered his delivery address and, during a prolonged attempt to find the correct location, began behaving inappropriately.

The motorbike driver alleged that the tourist, in his inebriated state, harassed him by touching his body and attempting to grope his groin area. The situation escalated when the driver, reportedly overwhelmed by frustration and anger, stopped the vehicle and punched the tourist in the face before fleeing the scene.

Police say Mr. Devendra intends to file a formal complaint at Pattaya City Police Station. Authorities are now working to identify and locate the suspect, using photographic evidence and witness testimonies to support their investigation.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of tourists and the behaviour of transport service providers, as well as the importance of mutual respect and conduct between visitors and locals.
