A Pattaya bar brawl outside a popular nightlife venue has left a foreign tourist injured and prompted a police investigation. The incident occurred in front of the Secret Garden Bar on Pattaya Soi 6 and spread online through a widely shared video.
The footage shows several bar security guards in a physical confrontation with a tourist on the street. The images triggered public concern over safety in Pattaya’s entertainment areas and raised questions about security practices.

Tourist Files Complaint After Pattaya Bar Brawl
On February 3, police at Pattaya City Police Station received a complaint from Mr. Marcus Ali Turner, a 31 year old American national. He said he visited the bar on the evening of February 2. A verbal dispute with security staff followed about an hour later. He alleged a group of guards attacked him with punches and kicks to the face and body. He reported injuries and asked police to pursue legal action.
Police Detain Guards for Questioning
Later the same day, investigators detained four guards linked to the Pattaya bar brawl for questioning and background checks. Police identified the men as Thanwa, also known as Suea, aged 30, Khwanchai, also known as Khwan, aged 43, Kanokchai, also known as JJ, aged 22, and Watchara, aged 38. The head of security escorted them to the station after the video circulated online.

Guards Respond to Pattaya Bar Brawl Claims
One guard seen in the clip gave a different account. He told reporters the conflict began over a payment dispute inside the bar. He said the tourist tried to leave without paying. Guards intervened to bring him back for discussion. He claimed the tourist struck first, which led to the street fight shown in the video. He said the footage has damaged the image of the business and local tourism.
Police continue to review evidence and interview both sides as the investigation into the Pattaya bar brawl moves forward.
