A dispute over an alleged companionship fee ended in a public brawl between a transgender woman and a Japanese tourist on Pattaya Beach Road, drawing crowds of onlookers and prompting police intervention.
The incident involved Naoya, a 40-year-old Japanese national, and a 30-year-old transgender woman known as “Mr Ped”, whose real name was withheld. The confrontation reportedly began after a disagreement over payment following a meeting in Pattaya’s famous Walking Street entertainment district.

According to Mr Ped, the pair met earlier in the evening and agreed that a fee of 3,000 baht would be charged for companionship. After spending time together, they travelled towards Pattaya Beach Road. When it became apparent that Naoya’s hotel was located in the Naklua area, several kilometres north of central Pattaya, Mr Ped suggested taking a taxi rather than walking.
Mr Ped claimed that Naoya insisted on continuing on foot and told him to leave if he did not wish to accompany him further. He then requested 1,000 baht for his time before deciding to return. The situation allegedly deteriorated when Naoya refused to pay.
The argument quickly turned physical, with punches exchanged on the beachfront in full view of tourists and local residents. Videos of the altercation were reportedly recorded by numerous witnesses and later circulated online.
Good Samaritans intervened and escorted both parties to Pattaya City Police Station. Despite arriving at the station, the disagreement continued, forcing officers to step in and calm the situation.
Police reported that both individuals were initially fined 500 baht each. Naoya sustained injuries to his face and suffered a cut above his left eyebrow. Officers instructed the injured party to obtain a medical examination and submit the results as part of the case file.
Authorities said additional legal proceedings remain possible if either side decides to pursue further action based on the medical findings or other evidence.
The incident highlights the potential for disputes in Pattaya’s busy nightlife areas to escalate quickly, particularly when expectations regarding services and payments are not clearly resolved. Police continue to encourage visitors and residents to settle disagreements peacefully and seek assistance from authorities when necessary.
