A Swedish tourist has reported losing more than 100,000 baht after an alleged robbery involving a group of Thai transgender women at a condominium in Pattaya during the early hours of May 15.

Police from Mueang Pattaya Police Station received the complaint at approximately 3:40 a.m. Officers later visited the condominium to investigate the incident.
The victim, identified by police as 67-year-old Mahmoud, told investigators he had spent the evening at entertainment venues near Pattaya Walking Street, a well-known nightlife district popular with tourists and visitors. He later met two Thai transgender women and invited them to his accommodation at My View Condotel on Pattaya Sai Song Road. According to his statement, he agreed to pay each person 1,000 baht.
Mahmoud said the group arrived at the condominium around 2:20 a.m. He later told police that one of the women contacted two additional friends and invited them to the room.
Police reported that an argument later broke out among the group, creating confusion inside the condominium. During the disturbance, one of the suspects allegedly took a key to the victim’s safe before leaving the property with cash and foreign currency valued at around 111,000 baht.
The stolen items reportedly included 67,500 baht in Thai currency, 800 euros, 2,000 Swedish krona, and 8 million Vietnamese dong.
Investigators have launched a search for the suspects. No arrests had been announced at the time of publication.
Pattaya, a coastal city in eastern Thailand known for its nightlife and tourism industry, has seen similar incidents involving foreign visitors reported in recent years. Local police regularly advise tourists to exercise caution when inviting unfamiliar individuals to private accommodations and to secure valuables in hotel safes or locked storage areas.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
A recent related case involved an Indian tourist who reported a necklace theft in Pattaya, which later led to the arrest of a transgender suspect.
